FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Registration, how classes work, payments and practical information: the answers to the questions we hear most often.
Registration and organisation
1. How do I register for classes?
Register through our online registration form, available from the Bachata Classes page while registration is open. Submitting the form pre-registers you only.
A registration paid by bank transfer is confirmed once the payment has been received and validated.
Choosing to pay in cash on site does not reserve or guarantee a place: cash payment is subject to available places.
2. Do I need to pay in advance or on site?
You can pay in advance or on site:
- Bank transfer, with the proof of payment uploaded in the registration form.
- Cash on site.
A registration paid by bank transfer is confirmed once the payment has been received and validated.
Choosing to pay in cash on site does not reserve or guarantee a place: cash payment is subject to available places.
3. Can I try a class before committing?
Yes.
- Free trial classes are possible only during the first 2 weeks of each trimester.
- One free trial per level (A0, A1 and A2).
- Trials are subject to availability.
A free trial does not reserve or guarantee a place: paid and confirmed registrations have priority.
After your trial, you decide whether to continue.
4. Are spots limited?
Yes. We limit the capacity of each class to ensure a high quality of teaching. Paid and confirmed registrations have priority.
How classes work
5. What should I bring?
- A second pair of clean indoor shoes. Outdoor shoes are not allowed: please change upon arrival.
- A water bottle.
- Your good energy.
6. I have never danced before. Can I start right away?
No previous experience is needed: people who have never danced start in level A0, the level for complete beginners. The teachers may reassess your placement if necessary.
Registration depends on available places and on whether registration is open for the class.
7. What is the difference between leader and follower?
The leader guides the dance. The follower responds to the lead. We actively balance both roles in every class.
8. Do I need to come with a partner?
No, you can join our classes without a partner. We rotate partners during classes so everyone can dance with different people.
We also offer a couple discount when one Leader and one Follower register together. You don’t need to be a couple in your personal life to benefit from this offer.
9. Do partners rotate during class?
Partner rotation is mandatory at every level (A0, A1 and A2), including for students who register as a couple. It is an essential part of the LBF teaching method.
Bachata is a social dance: dancing with different partners develops connection, adaptability and technique, and keeps every group balanced.
Exceptions are possible only for medical or physical reasons. Please speak with the teachers before the class: each request is evaluated individually and must be approved by the teachers.
10. Can I decide my own level (A0, A1 or A2)?
No. Our teachers evaluate your skills and decide whether you should be in A0, A1 or A2, or sometimes even in two levels at the same time. If you are a complete beginner, you will be placed directly in A0.
This is not to downgrade anyone, but to ensure the best possible progression for you and to keep a similar level across the group, so everyone can enjoy the class. Please do not take it personally: our goal is for you to progress without frustration.
11. Do I receive a certificate at the end of the trimester?
Students must attend at least 75% of classes during the trimester to be eligible for a certificate of participation.
The certificate recognises attendance and commitment. It does not automatically guarantee progression to the next level, which remains subject to teacher approval.
Payments and passes
12. What payment methods do you accept?
- Bank transfer, with the proof of payment uploaded in the registration form.
- Cash on site.
13. Can I pay in installments?
No. We do not offer installment plans.
14. What happens if the class is full after I have paid?
If a class is fully booked and you have already made a payment, the amount paid will be refunded.
